2021 Petit Verdot (Wine Club Only)

$50.00
  • Blend: 100% Petit Verdot

  • Vineyard: Weinbau Vineyard in the Wahluke Slope AVA

  • Harvested: 10/12/2021. Brix – 26.5, pH – 3.58.

  • Bottled: 08/06/23

  • Alcohol: 15.3%

Fermented in open topped fermenters.  Aged for 21 months in 100% new Russian Oak.

Aromatics: Smells of pretty boysenberry, dark fruit, and earth

Palate: This beautiful wine has a lush and velvety texture with bright acid upfront, followed by dark berry flavors.  It then hits you tobacco, smoke, and slightly grippy tannins and finishes with bright acids and slightly grippy tannins generating a long, lingering finish. This is a big, but beautiful and textured wine.

Color: Dark garnet with violet hues on the rim.  Almost opaque.

Food Pairings: Ribeye steak, Pot Roast, Filet Mignon with Blue Cheese, Carne Asada, and/or Chocolate Ice Cream.

When to drink: It’s beautiful now and should continue to improve over the next 5+ years.  This wine should be lovely for at least 10 years in the cellar.

ABOUT US

We are firm believers that you cannot make great wine without great grapes. We work very hard to grow great grapes, handpicking our grapes each season. Each season brings new challenges, but when we harvest the beautiful fruit we’ve worked so hard for, it’s incredibly rewarding. We practice sustainable farming and are in our vineyard every day. We make sure each vine gets the optimal amounts of water, nutrients, and sun. We want to do as little wine making intervention as possible.
