Blend: 75% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot
Vineyard: Malbec – Tapteil Vineyard, Red Mountain AVA, Cabernet Sauvignon – Dubrul Vineyard, Rattlesnake Hills AVA, Petit Verdot – Weinbau Vineyard, Wahluke Slope AVA, Merlot - El Mochuelo Estate Vineyard, Lake Chelan AVA.
Harvested: Various dates in October 2022
Bottled: 09/24/24
Alcohol: 14.5%
pH: 3.85%
Fermented in open tank fermenters and then then aged for 21-month in 75% neutral, 25% new French Oak barrels.
Aromatics: Dark raspberry, sandalwood, and a hint of cloves.
Palate: Begins with dark fruit flavors and a hint of smoke. The mid-palate has fine, grippy tannins, followed by a super long finish of bright acid, candied dark fruits, and tongue-coating tannins.
Color: Dark garnet
Food Pairings: Pork tenderloin, beef stew, stroganoff, and/or chocolate ice cream.
When to drink: : Ready now, but we think will improve with a year or two in bottle. Should drink beautifully for another 5 to 7 years.
